About this trip
Dolphin House is one of the best-known marine trips in the southern Red Sea. The name refers to Shaab Samadai, a large horseshoe-shaped offshore reef and marine protected area off the coast of Marsa Alam, famous for its resident pods of spinner dolphins and its rich coral life.
Getting there
The reef lies offshore from Marsa Alam, about 7–18 km from the coast depending on the route, and can only be reached by boat from Marsa Alam or a nearby marina.
What to expect
Spinner dolphins often rest and play in the shallow inner lagoon, and snorkelers have a good chance of seeing them, although sightings are not guaranteed. The reef also has colorful coral gardens, pinnacles, swim-throughs and diverse marine life. The water is usually clear with good visibility, and the wide range of depths suits both beginners and experienced divers. Snorkeling areas are separate from the diving zones to protect the dolphins.
The trip includes two guided snorkeling sessions with mask, fins and life jacket, plus lunch, water and soft drinks on board. Dive sessions and dive equipment are not included.
