Want to admire the graceful sea turtles, or are you drawn to graceful rays, or perhaps you’d like to get up close and personal with sharks and even watch them feed? Then you simply must visit the Grand Aquarium.
The aquarium opened its doors to visitors in January 2015. In fact, it’s not just a large aquarium; it’s an entire complex, a visit to which feels like a kind of quest.
Firstly, the complex’s grounds house a mini terrarium, a small zoo, an oceanarium, and a café.
Secondly, everything is spread across several levels: visitors will walk through tunnels, ascend and descend staircases, cross a suspension bridge like in Indiana Jones films, explore a waterfall, and much more. Directional arrows are located along the entire route. Not only children but also adults are delighted by all these grottoes, halls with cylindrical aquariums, and underwater tunnels.
Twice a day, the Aquarium hosts a shark feeding show. Through the glass, you can see a scuba diver feeding sharks, rays, and moray eels. The spectacle is mesmerizing.
Another interesting exhibit is the Hall of Extinct Animals. Dinosaur skeletons have been reconstructed from individual discovered fragments, and a 21-meter-long skeleton of an ancient whale.
Another interesting attraction, especially for children, is the opportunity to hold and feed turtles.
The Grand Aquarium is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
