The Valley of the Kings is one of Egypt’s most famous archaeological sites, located on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor. It served as the royal burial ground for the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC).
The most famous discovery here is King Tutankhamun’s tomb (KV62), found in 1922 almost intact, with its golden treasures now displayed in museum
